Invisalign How it works

Invisalign How it works

Consultation, Invisalign dental treatment

The professional must meet you for a consultation in order to properly inform you about the different possible treatments according to your needs and start the Invisalign process. This information session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Each case will be precisely evaluated by Dr. Alain Brault D.M.D., Cert. Ortho., to validate your eligibility for Invisalign® dental treatment. Once Dr. Brault confirms that you can benefit from the treatment, he takes photos, x-rays and digital scans, or a dental impression, of your teeth. These recordings will be used to create a 3D ClinCheck treatment plan, just for you.

Transparent Aligners, Invisalign

Once custom designed and sent to our office, you will receive a set of aligners to wear every day and replace at home, on average every 1 to 2 weeks.
These are transparent shells that cover all teeth. The number of shells required varies depending on the degree of straightening needed as part of your Invisalign dental treatment.

The course of Invisalign dental treatment

You will have an appointment with us approximately every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor progress and receive the new aligners. At the end of your treatment plan, retainers will be required to preserve your new smile. Each shell will be worn for 14 days and nights, except during meals. An average of 300 hours per device for the entire Invisalign process.
The duration of treatment is determined by the severity of the tooth misalignment:
Minor: 3 to 8 months.
Moderate: 9 to 14 months. (most frequently)
Severe: 14 to 20 months.
Very severe: The method could have its limits. That is, you will need pins in part or in full.
Once the teeth are straightened, retaining shells are required.
You will only wear them at night for the years following treatment.
They are essential so that the ligaments which connect the teeth, stretched during treatment, relax.
At any time, Dr. Alain Brault D.M.D., Cert. Ortho., will judge with you the best option to keep your smile aligned.
